POLICE have released images of a silver Hyundai Santa Fe, similar to the one involved in the fatal collision with a silver Ford Fiesta on Tuesday evening.

An 18-year-old man who was charged in connection with the collision appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court yesterday and was remanded in custody, following the collision on Cass House Road, Middlesbrough.

Officers believe that a silver Hyundai Santa Fe, allegedly linked to the collision, may have been driven around the Hemlington area in the hours leading up to the incident.

The vehicle was allegedly stolen at about 10pm on Monday from the Stainton area and was reported missing on the morning of the crash.

The collision took place at about 7.30pm on Tuesday at the junction of Cass House Road and Fordyce Road.

Andrew Corfield, 39, from Hemlington, the driver of the Fiesta, died at the scene.

His 17-year-old daughter, Alice, who was a passenger in the Fiesta, remains in James Cook University Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

Anyone who may have seen a vehicle similar to this one in the Hemlington area on Monday evening and Tuesday is asked to ring Cleveland Police on 101, quoting event number 190341.
