A MAN has died after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest while walking in the Roseberry Topping area on Thursday.

The man was walking with friends in the popular North Yorkshire hiking destination when he became unwell just after midday.

On its Facebook page, Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team posted: “When the team arrived at the location they were met by North East Ambulance Service paramedics and the Great North Air Ambulance who were already on scene and dealing with the male who it was believed to have had a cardiac arrest.

“Regrettably the gentleman did not survive the cardiac arrest. There were 20 team members involved for about an hour and a half.

“The team would like to pass on its deepest sympathy at this sad time.”
