THE Forum in Northallerton will play host to an evening of spoken word and comedy next month, as four local performers take to the stage.

Ey Up Stand Up is a new event on December 12, celebrating “Northernness,” spoken word and comedy.

The performers are Kate Fox, Thirsk-based comedian and regular on Radio 4; Scott Tyrrell, Newcastle-based poet and BBC Slam winner; Mike Edwards, Teesside character comedian and Paul Staines, Northallerton-based part-time performance poet.

“We are delighted to welcome these fantastic performers to our stage here in Hambleton” said arts and recreation officer Kate Staines.

“So often we need to travel to London, Newcastle, Edinburgh or Manchester to see performers of this calibre. Arts Council England has funded us to help to bring these performers right to our doorstep.”

Tickets are £5 and available directly from forumnorthallerton.org.uk or 01609-776230.
