THIS year marks the Swinton Park hotel’s 15th Birthday and to celebrate, proprietors Lord and Lady Masham hosted a lavish five-course birthday lunch.
The event, held at the end of March at the Ripon venue, was held in Samuel’s restaurant and attended by members of the Cunliffe-Lister family, local guests and long-serving members of staff.
As part of the celebrations, Lord & Lady Masham opened the recently restored gates to the walled garden. The gates were originally given to the 1st Earl of Swinton by his constituents on his retirement as an MP in 1935.
Swinton Park is currently undertaking another major phase of development with the addition of a new spa complex with conservatory restaurant, coffee lounge and shop; providing facilities for both hotel guests and the local community. The Spa and Country Club is due for completion at the end of this year.
