AN event to showcase the Sowerby Gateway 64 one and two-bedroom flats extra care housing scheme will be held at Meadowfields, Chapel Street, Thirsk on Monday, from 10am to 2pm.
Staff will also be on hand to answer questions about Orchid House, on the Herriot Gardens development, which is aimed at people aged over 55 who need support to live independently.
Flats on three floors at the scheme will be offered for rent, shared ownership or sale and be staffed 24 hours a day. There will be 26 two-bedroom bungalows surrounding Orchid House on Acacia Drive.
Orchid House, which is set to open to residents from mid-October, will include a communal area on each floor, a garden room for residents and open onto a piazza called Campion Square, near a community hub with shops.
