AN EVENT which celebrates all things relating to steam and vintage machinery will feature more than 700 exhibits.

The Hunton Steam Gathering has grown from a small village show in 1985 to the popular event it is today, which has long outgrown its original venue in the village to Bedale Road nearby.

The organisers are gearing up for this year’s event to be the biggest yet with a large selection of steam engines, vintage commercial vehicles, cars, tractors, bikes, stationary engines, motoring and agricultural displays. Attractions will also include craft stalls, local food market, autojumble and many diverse trade stalls.

The Sunday will see a vintage ploughing match and a local produce show. The event takes place over the weekend of September 10 and 11 2016 with gates opening at 10am. The volunteer team rely on the support of the local Bedale Scouts to assist with car parking duties.

Admission is £7 for adults and £3.50 for children ages 5 to 15 years, and under 5s go free. Event postcode is DL8 1QF. Details can be found on the website or Facebook.
